Distribution Services General Merchandise Manager
As the Distribution Centre General Merchandise Manager will be responsible for overseeing the efficient distribution of various merchandise products to retail stores.
Your primary goal will be to optimize the supply chain, maintain inventory levels, and ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
This role requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals.
Functional Description:
- Supply Chain Management: Develop and execute comprehensive supply chain tactical plans to streamline the distribution process and ensure optimal inventory levels.
- Inventory Control: Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent stockouts and overstock situations, while minimizing holding costs and product obsolescence.
- Logistics Coordination: Oversee the coordination of inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring smooth movement of merchandise from suppliers to distribution centers and from distribution centers to retail stores.

Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to negotiate favorable ways of work and delivery schedules.
- Cost Optimization: Implement costeffective distribution plans by identifying opportunities for cost reduction.
- Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure that products meet established standards and are delivered to customers in excellent condition.
- Performance Analysis: Utilize data and metrics to evaluate distribution performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement actionable solutions.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies in the distribution process.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the distribution services, identifying and implementing best practices for increased efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Team Leadership**: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of distribution professionals to achieve departmental objectives and foster a positive work environment.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
- Proven experience (10 years plus) in distribution management or supply chain management within the general merchandise industry.
- Strong experience in inbound and outbound management, as well as general merchandise distribution
- Strong understanding of supply chain principles, logistics, and distribution best practices.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent problemsolving and decisionmaking skills with a strategic mindset.
- Exceptional negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to adapt to a fastpaced and constantly changing environment.
- Strong problemsolving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively with crossfunctional teams.
Salary:
R110, R140,000.00 per month

- Gauteng, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
Education:
- Diploma (required)
Experience:
