Introduction

  • We are looking to recruit a Key Accounts Manager to work within our Trading department. This role reports to the Key Accounts Executive and will be based at Clicks Head Office in Cape Town.

Job Purpose:


  • To negotiate and improve annual trading terms and thereby ensure best return on supplier relationships for enhanced profitability

Job Objectives:


  • To ensure supplier compliance to contract requirements, SLA's, Consumer Protection Act requirements, BBEEE requirements and other legal requirements in order to reduce legal risk for the Group
  • To maintain and facilitate multifunctional relationships with suppliers and merchandise teams in order to meet internal and external expectations
  • To provide advice on all contracting issues to suppliers and the Merchandising team in order to ensure informed parties and compliant contractual agreements
  • To manage strategic initiatives between Clicks and Suppliers against shared visions in order to enhance profitability for Clicks
  • To conduct quarterly and annual performance reviews with suppliers in order to continually monitor and measure value add of relationships
  • To set up and review budgets for other income streams in order to manage ''Other income' effectively
  • To manage and implement Other Key Accounts income streams in order to ensure accuracy of billing
  • To compare performance of vendors across categories in order to advise on opportunities to increase profitability
  • To benchmark and review trading terms in order to measure and improve on key supplier performance (sales, profit margins etc.)

  • Consumer Protection Act (desirable)
  • BBBEE (desirable)
  • Contracting & Compliance (essential)

Experience:


  • 13 years Managerial experience within Merchandising
  • Buying/ Sourcing experience (desirable)
years Legal background (desirable)

  • Commercial experience (essential)
  • Solid experience working with numbers and understanding the details of the financial/commercial interactions between a retailer and supplier

Education:


  • Desirable: BCom or Legal Qualification
