Non-EE Position
Our client, the SA Revenue Service (SARS), seeks to appoint the
Business Area Lead:
High Value Debt & Outstanding Returns
who will report to the Head: Specialized Debt & Outstanding Returns.

This is a permanent position


ABOUT THE POSITION:


Due to the high profile of some of the cases including the interest they arouse among members of the public, the incumbent will but require the skills to handle the press as well as make presentations at the highest level.


We are looking for a proven leader, a person without the smallest perceivable blemish in their integrity, who will lead people who lead people.

The respective teams are located in each province with concentration in the metros.

EDUCATION


It is envisaged that the incumbent would not be effective without possessing the combination of an Accounting / Finance / Economics / Commerce degree
and a legal degree including admission the High Court.

One of the relevant degrees must be a Postgraduate degree.


EXPERIENCE:


Minimum ten years of progressive experience in legal / law enforcement / Forensic / Auditing / Finance roles, three years of which must be at management role in a reputable organisation.


JOB OUTPUTS:

Process

  • Contribute and drive appropriate prioritisation frameworks in the business unit in support of organisational objectives and limited resources
  • Develop tactical strategy and delivery plans in support of functional objectives in partnership with leadership.
  • Direct, control, coordinate and optimise budgeted resources to meet specific objectives and deliver agreed results and productivity requirements.
  • Ensure the development and implementation of multiple practices in alignment with operational policy and procedural frameworks.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to continuously improve all functions and systems in line with national, regional and organisational changes
  • Plan for handling work outputs, pull together interdependent activities & specify priorities, standards & procedures to ensure tactical excellence
  • Schedule work to achieve the Objective Key Results (OKR)
  • Proactively identify interconnected problems, determine its impact and use to develop best fit alternatives; driving best practice solutions.
  • Provide periodic reports on performance against plan & progress on shortterm initiatives & use to realign tactical plan and objectives appropriately
  • Use the insights gained through integrated business reports to measure success & realign tactical strategy development objectives appropriately
  • Recommend changes to optimise processes, systems, policies and procedures, and direct the implementation of change and innovation initiated by the organisation

  • Implement governance, risk and compliance policy in own practice areas to identify and manage governance and risk exposure liability.

REMUNERATION
R1m - R2,0m per annum total cost to company, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Negotiable upwards should circumstances dictate.
