To design an organisation-wide short-term and long-term solution to prepare the "IFRS 9 Supplementary Information Schedule" (IFRS 9 Schedule) that will be submitted to the South African Reserve Bank Prudential Authority (SARB PA) monthly.

To provide project management and business analysis support for the Credit Risk Regulatory Reporting Stabilisation Project (CRS Project), which includes multiple enhancements across input data, calculations, controls and process improvements.

Provide a specification of requirements:

The business analyst is required to provide a detailed, technical specification of the data sources required to populate the IFRS 9 Schedule.


The specification should include the following:

  • Definition of all fields required for the IFRS 9 Schedule
  • The source of data required to populate the IFRS 9 Schedule, across multiple systems and business areas. This will include the required fields/accounts and location of the field/account, as well as any gaps identified in sourcing the required data.
  • Proposed solutions to produce the IFRS 9 Schedule. This includes identification of the system requirements, resource (time/skill) requirements, and a list of the advantages and disadvantages of each solution proposed.
  • The recommended solution and rationale.
  • Map the shortterm and longterm solutions towards preparing the IFRS 9 Schedule:

Short-term solution:


The business analyst is required to design and implement (through project-management) an efficient and effective short-term solution to prepare the IFRS 9 Schedule using automation tools, whereby the data is available efficiently and correctly for reporting to the SARB PA each month.

This requires both Business Analyst and Project Management skills. The short-term solution must be implemented by 30 Sep 2023, with limited resources from business. If possible, a dry-run for end August may be required.

Long-term solution:

The business analyst will design an efficient and effective long-term solution for the IFRS 9 Schedule.


Job Outline:
CRS Project


Use project management and business analysis skills to improve the credit risk regulatory reporting environment in the Group Credit Risk function.

This will require hands-on efforts to enhance automation, processes, controls, data quality, and systems across the calculation of Credit RWA, producing BA returns, and providing other regulatory reports like Pillar 3 disclosures.


Skill Requirements:


  • Executive: Executivelevel thinking, to provide solutions with commercial benefits, while being handson.
  • Project management: blend of traditional project management (timelines and reporting) and agile (squads and sprints).
  • Business analysis: map current processes, identify better solutions, implement solutions where possible (data extraction and simple office automation), spec solutions that require IT support, documentation, testing, change management
  • IT systems: ability to understand systems architecture and process flows.
  • Banking experience, including:
  • Credit Risk, especially calculation of credit RWA
  • Banks Act Regulations and Returns, especially asset classes
  • Financial reporting and reconciliations
  • Banking IT systems
  • Exceptional problemsolving skills, with industry experience in reinventing processes to achieve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Execution skills: able to design and implement effective and efficient solutions within tight deadlines.
  • International banking experience: if possible, the best in the industry.
  • Efficient: Able to deliver commercially viable solutions, in record time.
  • Proactive, selfstarting, and forwardlooking: ability to identify and resolve blockers, and drive results in a collaborative, constructive manner
