Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our team. The PM shall lead the complete project teams and is accountable for the project P&L's.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Profit and loss responsibility for the allocated project/s by delivering the project/s within the time, budget and cash targets in the required quality whilst optimizing the margin.
Ensuring compliance with corporate, sector and business directives and EHS standards.
Manage large complex projects. Project involvement will start at the proposal stage as a support and overview function and continue through at the project execution stage from award through kick off, design, manufacturing, procurement, fabrication, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
Supervise all Bidding & tendering activities and provide the execution strategy for tendering and execution.
Organize, structure and manage (or on a larger scale and more complex projects may assist in managing) project team/s to meet the needs of the project/s and control project costs.
Guidance of other project managers may be required.
Ensure ontime delivery of quality information, material, workmanship, field service, and product performance.
Review and manage a project schedule and approve changes, ensuring all parameters of the contract are being met.
Interface and manage Field Project Operations via Site Manager, including manpower and labour resource needs, productivity, schedule, quality, safety, and field labour and subcontract financials.
Collaboration with other management team members in developing strategy and implementing business plans
Perform solid risk and opportunity management.
Initiate and execute gate reviews

Perform negotiations with clients, partners and/or subcontractors.

Develop and maintain corresponding relationships with clients, partners and main subcontractors to ensure smooth operation of projects and smooth dispute resolution in a complex environment
Prepare and perform Project Reviews as requested

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelors Degree (engineering, electrical, mechanical)
ECSA Registration and Pr. Eng. Would be advantageous
5+ years of construction experience as well as 5+ years of work experience in the renewable energy industry (Solar PV projects, Wind projects, Energy Storage projects)
Minimum of 3 5 years in Power/Oil/ Hydrogen/Gas industry
Managerial (Budget / Administration / People)
Specific Functional/Technical authority
Bid strategy and overall execution strategy
Measurement / Key Performance Indicators
Development of gross margin and provisions in the project
Development of cost, time schedule and quality in the project
Compliance with processes, procedures and tools
Proven track record of successfully implementing utilityscale PV projects developed under the REIPPPP (project list required)

Competencies:

Project Management
Strong planning, organizing and priority setting skills, with a proven ability to manage teams.
Broad technical and commercial knowledge covering multiple disciplines
Good commercial knowledge for assessing business risks and opportunities to undertake commercial negotiations.
Insightful, able to collaborate with other management team members in developing strategy and implementing business plans.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Understanding of development processes from greenfield to readytobuild
Understanding of PV plants and HV facilities construction technology.
Software: PVSol / PVSyst, AutoCAD, MS office suite, MS project

Salary:
From R45,000.00 per month
