Europcar, a leading Car Rental company, has a great opportunity for a professional and highly driven Team leader to join our dynamic car rental sales team based in Brum, Johannesburg.

This role requires someone who would be efficient in generating growth and revenue.

Position Overview:


The purpose of the position is to be strategically focused, optimising sales productivity levels, strategic relationship building with customers, and maximising customer visibility.

A strong focus on leadership skills will drive team performance, market growth, profitability and general financial success of the sales portfolio.


Specific Role Responsibilities:


  • Support the National Sales Manager in staff and daily duties
  • Drive the achievement of agreed sales targets.
  • Codevelop and implement an annual sales portfolio strategy aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Develop and submit required budget allocations for implementation of sales strategy.
  • Codevelop, implement and drive customer acquisition and retention strategies.
  • Analyse sales performance, assist to develop and then manage the implementation of action plans to achieve the objectives.
  • Pursue business opportunities and development of multilevel customer relationships for the acquisition of new business, identifying risks that will have an impact on financial sustainability of these relationships.
  • Manage the negotiation of customer pricing within set guidelines to maximize profitability.
  • Provide advice, expertise and mentoring to assist, support and develop team members.
  • Rate Analysis and structuring to the benefit of the orginisation, this includes contracted and dynamic rates within the business.
  • All daily tasks to be completed as and when they arise in customer management.

Qualifications and Experience:


Minimum Experience

  • 5 years of relevant Corporate Sales experience
  • 2 years Team Leader/ Supervisory experience

Minimum Qualification

  • Matric/Senior Certificate or equivalent (NQF4)
  • Higher Certificate or similar relevant tertiary qualification (NQF5)

Preferred Qualification

  • Degree/ Diploma or similar relevant qualification (NQF7)

Minimum Requirements

  • Valid, unendorsed Code 8 driver's license
  • Computer literate: proficient at an Advanced level in Excel, Intermediate level in Word & Powerpoint

  • Budget Achievement:A minimum requirement is achievement of budget whilst successfully growing profit margins to the required standards. Successful implementation and consistent management of our retention and growth strategies will play a vital role in achieving and exceeding the required annual budgets.

Leadership Abilities:Effective people management is extremely important in this role. Skills development, performance management, staff retention, sales productivity and overall staff motivation are crucial to ensure both the performance and growth and development of our people.

Strategic Customer Relations:Focused and tailored value proposition based on the customer's specific needs and requirements. Solid business partnerships, proactive and positive relationship building with customers and potential customers must be developed with customers at all levels, particularly at senior levels within their organisations.

Administration and General Disciplines:Effective time management, weekly reporting and meeting of deadlines is a minimum requirement. Data quality and the ability to use extreme initiative are imperative.
