Description

A fast-growing restaurant group is seeking an experienced Restaurant General Manager to join its team in opening an upper-tier restaurant in Cape Town CBD.


IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THE SUCESSFULL CANDIDATE WILL NEED TO BE TRAINED IN GAUTENG BEFORE ASSUMING THE ROLE IN CAPE TOWN.

This person shall report directly to the Owner-Operator of the store.

The duties and responsibilities of the successful GM will include the following:


ADMIN RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Responsible for all administrative tasks in the restaurant across all departments inclusive of the capturing of all invoices and loading thereof on Gdrive.
  • Subsequent filing of all invoices after capturing.
  • Responsible for employee administration such as warnings, leave requests, contracts, policies, AOD's etc.

FINANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Invoicing: Compilation of Payment schedules as well as capturing of all invoices on the system
  • Cashups: Reconciliation of all waiter cash ups on a daily basis.
  • Reconciliation of all waiter's tip received on a weekly basis.

STOCK CONTROL RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Variances: General manager to check and verify stock orders and stock takes and where applicable address any variances (if applicable)
  • Liqour Orders: Replenishing stock in the bar area (if applicable) with assistance and under the guidance of the Operator.
  • Responsible for all stock orders back and front of house with assistance and under the guidance of the Operator.
  • Devise an action plan to curb high food costs and eliminate variances where necessary.
  • Ensure that stock shortages are accounted for and/or kept to an absolute minimum.
  • Investigate stock shortages and where applicable, take the necessary disciplinary action.
  • Ensure that store wastage is kept at an absolute minimum.

ROSTERS AND SCHEDULING:


  • Planning and coordination of weekly shift roster.
  • Implementation of Weekly roster and shift scheduling for the entire FOH & BOH to ensure that the shop is optimally staffed at any point in time. The GM is responsible for the compilation of the shift roster which is signed off by the Operator on a weekly basis.

CUSTOMER INTERACTIONS:


  • Customer Satisfaction: Conduct regular floor walks and interact with customers as much as possible
  • Deal directly with customer complaints and queries.

Salary:
R18, R22,000.00 per month


Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Cape Town,

Western Cape:
Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)


Experience:


  • Restaurant management: 4 years (required)
