Internal Sales Assistant R Worcester

Established Company with offices located in Worcester is looking for a Full time Sales Assistant in Worcester to fulfill the following task to give a few examples


Duties
a) Sales.

a) Advise customers of promotions and awareness campaigns. Ensure when you send that you put in a delivery report and customers are blind copied (BCC).

b) Market current product lines

  • A maximum rate of credit for returns is 8%.
  • Mark invoices for all goods specially ordered for customers with "special order, none returnable". With any default on this, the salesman will be held solely responsible.
  • Monthly Sales Target:
a)Reach youSales Target every month.

b) Your Sales target will be measured during your monthly performance review according to the SLA (Addendum A)

c) Completing invoices correctly with your sales code is the salesman's responsibility.

d) When invoicing a CASH customer, ALL the customers details must be filled in on the invoice. The customer's NAME, CONTACT NUMBER & ADDRESS MUST BE FILLED IN.

e) Open COD accounts for businesses buying on Counter Cash Sales accounts in order to expand our customer database.

f) No accounts will be allocated to any salesman. The more customers you assist and the more invoices you process, the higher your commission value will become.


b) Sales Backorder:
a) Backorders must be updated and may not be older than 5 working days.

b) Check and release backorders twice EVERYDAY.

c) Do NOT use the backorder system to "reserve" or "hold" product for customers.

d) If placing something on backorder, ensure that you order the product for your customer and that it is reflected as "ordered" on the backorder report.

c) Customer Service

  • Acknowledge and greet ALL customers that enter the building
  • Attend to customers on sales counter when called upon by management.
  • Answering phones promptly (max. 5 rings).
a) If you hear an unanswered call ringing, pull the call and make the sale

b) Answer ALL calls and do not SELECT which calls to answer

  • Prompt feedback to customers:
a) Answer all messages taken for you as soon as reasonably possible (30 min).

b) Return all phone calls within a reasonable timeframe (30 min).

c) Quote customers within a reasonable timeframe (30 min).

  • Ensure that each part given to the customer if you are personally handing over is correct and corresponds to the invoice.
  • Working in the best interest of the company at all times. NEVER REFER A CUSTOMER TO A COMPETITOR FOR ANY REASON. You may offer to "buy it out" for the customer. Go out of your way to find what the customer is looking for.
  • Always offer the customer an alternative product. If unable to supply the customer immediately, inform them that your will find what they need for them. (Become the customers "go to person")


  • Claims

  • Do not accept anything over the counter but accompany the customer to the relevant department for assessment, processing and paper work.
d) Administration

  • Within reason, keep track of customers claims and credits as it has a direct impact on your sales. Follow up with them to ensure that their expectations are met.
  • Staff accounts are solely for your vehicle and private use, not relatives and friends. If this perk is abused in any way, these products will be charged at full retail price. Only THE BANCH MANAGER may approve and open the staff accounts.
  • Sales Meetings are compulsory and maybe after hours, depending on the Branch.
  • Computer salesman passwords are confidential. Always logout when computer is not in use. A part booked out on your computer code by other salesmen is your responsibility.
  • Diligently complete any and all lost sales.

This applies to but is not limited to:
a) Inability to supply a product to the customer.

b) Only able to supply a partial amount of an order - Short supply

c) Any product that can be supplied but the pricing was not competitive.

e) Other

  • Stocktake takes place twice a year all to attend
  • Attend and assist at company functions and trade evenings. This as you know is not excessive so from time to time with sufficient notice it is expected that you participate.
  • Work stations:
a) Work stations are to be kept neat and clean at all times.

b) Catalogues neatly stored for easy referencing and access

c) All sample parts must be returned to the customers. No samples may be retained by any salesman.

d) All parts pulled from the stores to show customers must be returned immediately to stock and may not remain at your work station.

e) Should you leave your work station, please notify reception in order for them to take a message or transfer to another salesman.

  • Dress code and appearance:
a) To be kept neat, tidy (clothing ironed, if need be) and hygienically clean.

b) Wearing of competitors branded clothing will not be allowed.

  • Other adhoc duties requested by your Line Manager
