My client, a leading manufacturer of catering and baking equipment, is looking for a Polisher/Grinder Operator to join their team in Bellville South, Cape Town.

Key responsibilities

  • The successful applicant must be able to work with the following tools: Grinder, polishing machine, sanding machine, hand tools and a drill machine.
  • Need to be able to grind all sorts of stainless steel parts on the welding joints.
  • Be able to polish and grain the material in the same direction as the sheet parts.
Required Skills and Knowledge

  • At least 5 years experience in a steel manufacturing environment and worked on the grinding and polishing machines
  • Know the difference of all sorts of steel/material
  • Know the difference Stainless steel grades: 3CR12, 304, 316, 430
  • Must understand brushing and grain of sheet metal
  • Knowledge of mild steel (hot rolled/cold rolled)
  • Galvanizing experience
