Depot Supervisor - Pretoria - Salary Negotiable

Responsibilities:


  • Planning, execution and management of vehicle deliveries in line with the operational principles and performance standards.
  • Coordinate driver turnaround in conjunction with the planning department
  • Managing the applicable operational processes and disciplines
  • Managing the Vehicle Delivery Tracking System's clerical and administration functions
  • Professional Interaction with customers from order management through to delivery precision
  • Route planning and management including enroute fueling and overnight accommodation
  • Communications with drivers from briefing to debriefing and problems which may arise in between.
  • Understand, manage and control the operational cost elements to maximize efficiencies and profitability in line with the performance expectations
  • Identify logístical challenges and implement solutions
  • Conduct data analysis
  • Ad hoc tasks and research projects
  • Daily interaction with all depot Mangers to ensure all relevant parties are kept "in the loop "
  • Storage yard management
  • Oversee the daytoday handling of all operational and storage issues within the Rosslyn depot
  • Managing of pilot vehicles allocated to the depot.
  • Assist with disciplinary issues in the depot.
  • Any reasonable instruction issued by Management

Minimum Requirements and Skills:


  • Extensive experience in logistics and/or project management min 5 years
  • Degree / Diploma in logistics or relevant tertiary education advantageous
  • Management and leadership abilities
  • Must have own reliable transport
  • Organized and comfortable with data analysis
  • Very good geographical knowledge of RSA
  • Fully conversant in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Thorough understanding of labour law in the workplace and fair labour practices
  • Ability to develop and document quality processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to fluently communicate in Zulu and/or isiXhosa would be advantageous
  • Ability to create and conduct verbal, visual and written presentations
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
