The IIE enjoys the reputation of being at the forefront of private higher education in South Africa and is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) to provide higher education qualifications accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE).

The IIE Vega, Johannesburg Campus has a vacancy for a Part-Time Academic Navigator (Lecturer) for the second semester in the following module:

Ideation and Visualisation 1B

Job Purpose:

Lecture based on provided content, ensure students are guided and supported in their learning. Mark student submissions and engage with campus teaching and learning.

Key Performance Areas:

Prepare for lectures based on provided content. Supplement content with own expertise. Deliver assigned modules to the stated outcomes and contracted hours. Mark student assessments and provide constructive feedback. Support student academic success by implementing workshops where needed. Perform academic admin, such as capturing assessment marks and reporting on student success. Provide content feedback. Engage with professional development opportunities and attend initial training sessions.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

Ideal:

Honours (HEQSF 8) in: Interior Design/ Architecture/Graphic Design/ Visual Communication Design/Information Design.
Portfolio with evidence of creative process, drawing from observation, drawing from imagination, rendering, plans, elevations, perspective, scale, various presentation format skills.
Software requirement: SketchUp is a must

Alternatively:

A suitable BA Honours level Degree with a strong visual or design component. This includes the HEQSF 8 fouryear degrees in Fine Arts.

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

Experience in Interior Design/ Architecture/ Product Design/ Graphic Design/ Visual Communication Design/ Information Design fields.
Recommended: Lecturing experience in one of the abovementioned fields
