Role Purpose


The Marketing Capability Manager is a key function within Marketing that is responsible for supercharging our culture of learning and unlocking creativity to drive the growth of our people, our brands and our category.

The role leads the strategic development and continuous improvement of Marketing capabilities, skills and executing sustainable initiatives within Group Brand & Marketing that supports key business outcomes.

This includes continuously evolving, developing, customising, implementing a training needs identification and action planning to assess outcomes by partnering closely with key internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:


  • A bachelor's degree in Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Digital transformation, Education, or related field.
  • Previous experience in other functional areas such as Marketing and Learning and Development.
  • A minimum of 5 years' of marketing experience or exposure to providing training, learning and development for marketing individuals.
  • Solid experience in leading, managing, coaching, and developing people.
  • Proven ability to lead crossfunctional teams and understand interrelations of different functions to drive effectiveness.
  • Working knowledge of tools to promote digital learning.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Roll out and manage the Marketing Training Programme, including compliance and achievement of modules across the marketing organisation.
  • Coordination and facilitation of the training curriculum and workshops in the form of broad marketing programmes.
  • Seek out ways in which to challenge and innovate our capabilities programming and tools to advance our brandbuilding skills and behaviours.
  • Instil, coordinate & implement monthly Spark Sessions with external experts, designed to inspire creative behaviours with our marketing team and evolve our brandbuilding skills.
  • Facilitation and management of any capability events such as M-Connect.
  • Instil, coordinate & implement initiatives designed to entrench learning from the Marketing Academy.
  • Development and management of The Marvel Academy on the Learning Portal.
  • Supporting the Brand and Insights team during the strategic and annual brand planning processes.
  • Support crossfunctional internal teams and business unit heads with agency pitches.
  • Reinvent Marketing by leading the development, implementation and delivery of capability building programmes and training hubs in conjunction with internal crossfunctional teams, agencies and ensure embedment in personal development plans.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to the marketing team, providing ongoing support to elevate creative strategy and challenge traditional thinking around the category, consumer and creative context.
  • Champion best practice and strategic sharing across the continent.
  • Facilitating and managing external creative resources.
  • Running and management of the Creative Programmes (Creative Critique, Creative Review and Awards).
  • Manage and facilitate half year review sessions to keep our marketing team and agency partners informed and engaged.
  • Facilitation and Management of creative award participation.
  • Design, develop and deploy the training strategy in alignment with the business strategy, and leverage data driven insights to design learning solutions, training interventions and learner journeys, meeting the capability needs of the business.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of marketing capabilities, aligned to business outcomes through evaluating and defining capability needs and identifying gaps.
  • Align and plan crossfunctional training approaches (from needs assessment until execution).
  • Establish, communicate, lead and maintain the implementation and adoption of marketing, development and succession processes and tools.
