Description
Requirements:
- Relevant certification in fresh / advanced meat
- At least 5 years plus experience in upmarket / highend Deli environment (International experience preferred)
- 3 years plus experience in a supervisory / team management role
- Relevant tertiary qualification highly advantageous
- Computer skills
- Experience in protocol management
- Understanding of online food retail
Soft Skills:
- Hands on approach
- Excellent command of the English language
- Ability to multitask
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to grow a retail base and grow a business
The main purpose of this position:
Sustainable Deli / Butchery and Eatery Manager, required for xxclusive regenerative farming concern (Sustainable future) serving the high-end markets
Customers and high-end quality are the heart of the business.
As the Deli / Butchery and Eatery Manager, you will be responsible for providing customers with an exceptional in-store experience, making sure the display of products is of a high standard and that our Eatery customers have a high-quality eating experience.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Order food products according to anticipated sales and seasonal needs
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels to achieve sales and margin goals
- Ensure all food product areas in store are clean, attractive and easy to shop and adhere to merchandising standards
- Build displays and arranges department products to make attractive presentations, highlighting featured/unique items
- Receive and unloads merchandise, checks quality, count and condition
- Communicate any issues to management and merchandising team
- Stock and rotates with attention to product quality and expiration dates
- Maintain accurate pricing and signage that meet merchandising standards
- Ensure customer special orders are accurately placed and delivered (if need be)
- Demonstrate excellent knowledge of products throughout the department and has an understanding of culinary terminology, product labeling and common dietary restrictions
- Coordinates with team to plan and conduct in store tastings
- Handle damaged and spoiled product according to company policy
- Maintain cleanliness, organisation and rotation of all areas of the deli
- Manage all staff
- Ensure correct costing and pricing is achieved to ensure GP margin targets are met
- Manage day to day opex and responsible for operating profit margins
- Ensure waste is at an absolute minimum (experience required)
