Description
Ensure production targets and profit margins are achieved cost-effectively and safely on a sustainable basis for the shaft

  • Develop and execute the strategic vision for a shaft(s) and directly assist the Mine Manager in the tactical management process
  • Act as the custodian for innovation, technology and best practices at shaft level
  • Ensure environmental and social concerns are managed as a strategic focus area at shaft level
  • Ensure effective asset management processes are implemented and adhered to
  • Understand the impact of relevant legislation on the mining discipline and ensure compliance
  • National Diploma or Degree in mining
  • Mine Manager Certificate of Competency (Metalliferous)
  • Management Development Programme will be advantageous
  • 3 years working experience as a Mine Overseer
  • 1 years experience as Underground Manager (appointed as a 2.6.1 or 3.1(a))
  • Trackless Mining experience will be advantageous
  • Code 8 Drivers License
  • Valid certificate of physical fitness
