Purpose of the role:


  • To provide a competent and effective Maintenance Support process, leading the maintenance team to ensure maximum equipment availability on time and within budget.
  • Primary functions are to take responsibility for keeping Plant and Equipment up and running, prevent breakdowns, ensure a Safe and Healthy work environment, and lead a team to wordclass performance to ensure maximum equipment availability on time and within budget.


Overall Operation and Maintenance (Breakdown & Preventative) of Plant, Facilities and Buildings - Including Boilers, Chiller, Air supply Unit, robotic systems, Compressed Air, Transformers (Energy Supply systems), injection moulding machines and associated support systems.


  • Maintaining Site safety standards and a safe working environment as per required legislation
  • Overall Supervision of the Maintenance Team, Engineering Contractors and Suppliers (output, quality, workperformance, timesheets, recordkeeping, coaching/mentoring and accuracy)
  • Control of engineering stores
  • Including procurement of spares, stockcontrol, security, record keeping, stock levels
  • Development and Control of a Preventative Maintenance Plan, run on a computerised maintenance management system
  • Attend to all mechanical and electrical breakdowns.
  • Investigate and analyse cause and effect of breakdown on equipment.
  • Carry out necessary activity to repair/resolve breakdown.
  • Advise management of electrical and mechanical problems and recommend activities to minimize the number of breakdowns.
  • Provide online relief and assistance when required.
  • Knowledge and experience of PLC's Drives, Servo Motors
  • Good knowledge and problemsolving ability for both mechanical and electrical problems
  • Ensure all supporting documentation is completed within the required timeframes and in the format specified.
  • Analyse proposed modifications and provide input regards the implementation of ideas.
  • Carry out modifications within the required timeframe.
  • Actively support and encourage associate involvement in MDW activities to generate ideas for continuous improvement.

Job Requirements:


  • B/Tech Qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline.
  • 35 Years maintenance experience with supervisory experience in the Automotive or manufacturing industry
  • 5 years maintenance experience
