Senior Mech, Elect or Electronics Technician - Fire & Water Systems
Brief description
The main purpose of this position is to maintain and install integrated systems in order to
optimise the fire systems at the Company, and also to enhance
techniques.
Detailed description
- Interpret the technical scope of critical projects (related to the built environment), and
requirement specifications (URSs) or the real estate strategy of the Co.
instructions (EIs) and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for technical equipment to
ensure proper maintenance and optimal use of assets.

- Coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance in the systems or equipment, and
preventative techniques).
- Critically interpret WIs and drawings concerning construction, alterations/modifications,
(SHE) requirements, manage the quality assurance process on work done for
adherence to industry requirements, and report on any non-compliance.
- Consult or engage stakeholders towards the drawing or preparation of URSs and/or
- Work closely with external engineering contractors and supporting specialists towards
level agreements (SLAs).

Job requirements
- a National Diploma in Engineering;
- registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA - optional); as Fire Protection
System Practitioner (optional) and
- at least five years of job-related experience after obtaining professional registration.
Additional requirements include:
- accreditation by the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA)
- (optional)
- working experience in all local fire safety codes for code-compliant fire safety designs
and projects, including (but not limited to) the South African National Standards (SANS);
- working experience in international codes and standards to carry out rational fire
designs, including (but not limited to) the British Standards (BS), National Fire Protection
Association (NFPA), European Norm (EN) and International Fire Engineering
Guidelines (IFEG); (optional)
- knowledge of:
− the National Building Regulations (NBR);
− safety-related legislation, regulations and standards, including (but not limited to)
the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993 (OHS Act);
− design tools/packages like AutoCAD and Revit draughting;
− a document management system (e.g. AutoDesk BIM360); and

Salary:
From R720,000.00 per year
