Qualifications:

Completed BCom Accounting
At least 5 years accounting experience
Track record of dealing effectively with senior stake holders (in our case this is the head of the schools

Skills:

Advanced Excel
Pastel Accounting
Matured individual with high level of emotional intelligence.
Knowledge of Accounting package
Strong financial skills
Attention to detail.

Job description:

Preparation and review of management accounts (P&L, BS and Cash Flow)
Including variance analysis
Identification of exceptions and anomalies
Risk & opportunities to budget
Analysis of costs and other statistical analysis
Monthend provision adjustments/journal (BD,audit fee)
Debtor related journals
Debtors with credit balance
Advance fees
Oversee banking controls for schools.
Banking transactional processing (interest, bank charges)
Performance of monthly bank reconciliations
Salary and payroll journals
Exceptional reporting and tax journals
Prepaid expense management
Enrolment and billing recon review.
Credit notes approval and review.
GL masters data management on financial systems
Monthly management accounts deadlines met, including timely query resolution from both school and head office management team.
Overall responsibility for management accounts of each school as divisional reporting park.
Responsibility of the following GL accounts:
Income statement
Interest
Exceptional income/exp.
Tax and VAT submissions
Balance sheet
Bank and petty cash
Advanced fees
Prepayments
Salary accounts
Commercial debtors
