Main Purpose / Objective:

To manage corporate governance matters, provide legal advice to the different business units, manage all contracts, litigation management, co-ordinate all legal matters for the business across the various jurisdictions and manage legal risk for the business.

Decision making authority:

This position operates within budget parameters and Decision framework.

Education:

Minimum job requirements:
LLB degree and Articles of Clerkship completed with 3 years post admissions experience. A post-graduate qualification in law, risk or business management is an added advantage.

Legal Advisory, Contracts Management, Corporate Governance, Joint Ventures, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Legal Management, Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance, Legal Due Diligence, Legal Developments tracking, Legal Opinion, Company Secretarial, Board Governance, Legal Research.

Other Skills Required**:

Good analytical skills, knowledge of legal instruments, good interpretation skills, good
communicator, company policies and procedures, communication, systematic, legal skills.

Knowledge Required:

General business acumen, contract management, contract drafting, negotiating, litigation and legal knowledge including the Companies Act, Data Protection Legislation and general legislation in South Africa, the Rest of Africa and Middle East regions.

Experience Required:

Corporate governance experience, including Board Management and Company Secretarial.

Business related agreements in the field of property management, facility management such as MOU and MOA agreements, tender documents, shareholders agreements, SLAs, Section 197 agreements.

NDAs, Lease agreements, Loan Agreements, General legal advice, Litigation and general legal research.
