My client, a Civil Engineering Company is looking for an Estimating Manager with Industry experience


Role in Support of
This role is in support of the Managing Director responsible for the Tendering Unit.


2. Theme of the Role


Responsible for tendering or negotiating work to win sufficient contracts within the Business Unit's scope of expertise and in line with the Business Plan.

Drives business development in area of responsibility and is continually on the look out for new business opportunities. Participates in the general management of the business.


3. Philosophy of the Role
To tender and win sufficient contracts aligned to the Business Plan and to network and drive business development opportunities.

5. Role description & pitch

1. Find Work (Marketing and Business Development)

Drives business development in area of responsibility. Networks extensively to ensure that the Business Unit is aware of all planned developments in area of responsibility. Continually on the look out for business opportunities. Feeds information into a central data bank.


2. Selection of Bids
Motivates which bids to target based on Business Plan, resources, expertise and competition to the MD. Ensures that a preliminary risk analysis takes place based on market conditions.


3. Submission of Bids
Ensures the completion of budgets, pre qualifications and feasibilities as required.

Critically reviews all bids to ensure compliance with the requirements. Provides innovative solutions where appropriate. Ensure professional presentation of bids to key players in G5 and where necessary to the client. Ensures delivery of the bid in time to the client.


4. Win Bids
Ensure all tenders are fully understood and critically analysed to spot opportunities. Keeps up to date with technology.


5. Business Unit Turnover
Actively involved in ensuring that the Business turnover targets are met for the financial year


6. Client Relationships
Maintains positive client relationships and liaises with consulting engineers, key clients and to become the favoured contractor.


7. Staff
Leads the Estimating function as a highly motivated willing team of experts. Ensures appropriate resourcing of the function to tender for sufficient bids.


8. Systems
Ensures that the MIBIS system is up to date with relevant information.


9. Budget
Monitors expenditure against budget and intervenes as appropriate.


Requirements:

Engineering Degree or equivalent

6 to 10 years experience in a similar role


Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
R60 000,00 - R75 000,00 per month
