Description
Fibre technicians are involved in all facets of fibre splicing including cable preparation, termination, fusion-splicing, testing and troubleshooting.

Duties & responsibilities:_

  • Splicing, installation, testing, and troubleshooting of fibre sites and links
  • Documenting and reporting on work completed
  • Maintaining project and safety documentation
  • Inspecting fiber routes and sites as preventative maintenance
  • Ensuring all attended sites are clearly labelled
  • Locating faults and mobilizing resources within mínimal time to counter fault
  • Restoring links within SLA hours or less depending on the cruciality.

Minimum level of Education:_

  • Matric or equivalent Competencies required: (e.g. communication, teamwork, problem solving, etc.)
  • Able to work effectively under pressure
  • Able to work as part of a team to achieve work goals and targets
  • Selfdirected, friendly and calm under pressure
  • Selfmotivated and a strong sense of achievement to take ownership of the network is of utmost importance
  • Task and problem solving orientation with a passion to achieve set goals and standards
  • Strong leadership and a passion to take ownership
  • Proficient in fibre cable termination with connectors
  • Well versed in fusion splicing machine technique
  • Selfdisciplined, motivated and organized
  • Good written and verbal English communication skills

R5, R10,000.00 per month


Education:


  • High School (matric) (preferred)

Experience:

Fibre Technician: 1 year (required)
- well versed in fusion splicing machine technique: 1 year (required)
- proficient in fibre cable termination with connectors: 1 year (required)

Expected Start Date: 2023/06/01
