Fibre technicians are involved in all facets of fibre splicing including cable preparation, termination, fusion-splicing, testing and troubleshooting.-
Duties & responsibilities:_
- Splicing, installation, testing, and troubleshooting of fibre sites and links
- Documenting and reporting on work completed
- Maintaining project and safety documentation
- Inspecting fiber routes and sites as preventative maintenance
- Ensuring all attended sites are clearly labelled
- Locating faults and mobilizing resources within mínimal time to counter fault
- Restoring links within SLA hours or less depending on the cruciality.
Minimum level of Education:_
- Matric or equivalent Competencies required: (e.g. communication, teamwork, problem solving, etc.)
- Able to work effectively under pressure
- Able to work as part of a team to achieve work goals and targets
- Selfdirected, friendly and calm under pressure
- Selfmotivated and a strong sense of achievement to take ownership of the network is of utmost importance
- Task and problem solving orientation with a passion to achieve set goals and standards
- Strong leadership and a passion to take ownership
- Proficient in fibre cable termination with connectors
- Well versed in fusion splicing machine technique
- Selfdisciplined, motivated and organized
- Good written and verbal English communication skills
Salary: To be discussed in Interview

R5, R10,000.00 per month
Education:
- High School (matric) (preferred)
Experience:
Fibre Technician: 1 year (required)
- well versed in fusion splicing machine technique: 1 year (required)
- proficient in fibre cable termination with connectors: 1 year (required)
