Human Resources and Payroll Officer VACANCY

Our client, based in Atlantis, Western Cape is looking for a full-time HR/Payroll Officer. You will be based onsite.

Key Responsibilities:


1. HR Administration

  • Ensure all HR employee filing are done accurately and timely on a weekly basis.
  • Ensure that all employee records are processed electronically and filed accurately and timeously.
  • Ongoing advice & support on company HR policies, benefits and procedures to employees and all managers.
  • Process, verify and maintain documentation relating to employee activities such as training, grievances, disciplinary hearings, and performance reviews.
  • Compile monthly HR KPI and reporting.
  • General HR duties.

2. Payroll

  • Full Payroll Function.
  • Collect and verify timesheet information for all employees.
  • Calculate pay according to hours worked incorporating leaves and overtime.
  • Calculate bonuses and commissions when appropriate.
  • Manage and calculate taxes and deductions.
  • Update paper and electronic payroll records by entering adjustments on pay rates, employee status changes etc.
  • Deal with complaints and questions regarding payroll from employees and management.
  • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in payroll.
  • Prepare and submit reports with payroll information to the Finance Manager.

3. Recruitment and Onboarding

  • Develop job specific outcomesbased interview questionnaires for all vacant positions in liaison with Head of Departments (HODs).
  • Completion of new employee takeon paperwork.
  • Induct new employees on policies and procedures on the first day of employment.
  • Introduce new employees to all employees on first day.
  • Organize premedicals.

4. Compliance (BBBEE, Protection of Personal Information Act, Employment Equity and Skills)

  • Responsible for EE management and compliance
  • Prepare quarterly EE presentations and chair EE meetings.
  • Responsible for monthly EE statistics and reporting.
  • Submit annual training report and workplace skills plan to relevant authorities.
  • Ensure POPI Act compliance.
  • Assist with BBBEE compliance certificate is obtained annually.
  • Monitor and report on progress against transformation and sustainability plans and prepare the organization for external verification process.

5. Performance Management

  • Provide support to management around performance feedback, coaching and career development.

6. Reward and Recognition

  • Manage the Company Recognition Program.

7. Return of earnings

  • Conduct yearly return of earnings.

Desired Experience & Qualification:


  • BCom HR Management/B

Degree Industrial Psychology Ideal:
BCom Honours HR Management/Industrial Psychology / National Diploma

  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in a unionized environment (manufacturing, construction, FMCG or distribution).
  • Excellent working knowledge of payroll
  • Must have own car or be able to commute.

Salary:
From R2.00 per month


Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Atlantis,

Western Cape:
Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)


Education:


  • Bachelors (preferred)

Experience:

- manufacturing, construction, FMCG or distribution: 3 years (preferred)
