Join the dynamic team at a renowned wine farm nestled in the picturesque foothills of the Helderberg Mountains. We are seeking an energetic, passionate, and experienced Assistant FOH Manager to lead a team of exceptional waitstaff.

As the Assistant FOH Manager with a primary focus on managing the vinoteque, you will play a pivotal role in delivering an exceptional hospitality experience, surpassing customer expectations in both our tasting room and restaurant.

Collaborating closely with the winemaker, you will ensure the seamless integration of wine experiences throughout our establishment.

Additionally, you will be responsible for upskilling the waitstaff on wines, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation among our team and clientele.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Hospitality:

Manage the floor, maintaining a high level of service from staff, particularly in the vinoteque.
Host tours, lunches, and tastings, with special emphasis on VIP groups, showcasing our vinoteque offerings.
Execute general waitron duties and tasks with a focus on wine knowledge and recommendations.
Assist with Cellar and Trophy Room Tours, highlighting our unique wine selections.
Support the Hospitality Manager with various tasks, particularly those related to the vinoteque.
Contribute to organising functions such as tastings, meetings, staff functions, and marketing events, emphasising winecentric experiences.
Liaise closely with the kitchen on restaurant and vinoteque operations, ensuring seamless integration of wine and food offerings.
Lead and train the team to provide exceptional service, with an emphasis on wine knowledge and customer engagement.

Administration:

Conduct opening and closing duties of the Front of House, with special attention to vinoteque operations.
Assist the Hospitality Manager in managing FOH Assistants, particularly in their vinoteque responsibilities.
Contribute to stock take, control, and reconciliation of wine and beverage stock, focusing on vinoteque inventory management.
Take responsibility for daily cashups and reporting maintenance issues, especially those affecting the vinoteque.
Ensure the effective operation of cleaning processes, with a focus on maintaining the vinoteque's ambiance and cleanliness standards.

Sales & Marketing:

Ensure accurate completion of shipping forms, particularly for vinoteque orders.
Drive sales targets, particularly for vinoteque offerings, and motivate Hospitality Assistants to excel in wine sales.
Provide relevant information for social network sites, emphasising our unique vinoteque experiences.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

Qualification in wine studies or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
Previous experience in wine sales and a managerial or team leader position at an upmarket wine farm/restaurant is essential.
Front of House and/or Wine Service Courses (such as those offered by the Cape Wine Academy) are advantageous.
Proven experience in managing a vinoteque or similar winefocused establishment is highly desirable.
