(DURBAN/PRETORIA/CAPE TOWN)

SENIOR DATA MANAGER
5-year contract

Core Requirements:

At least a 3year tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline; degree in Data Management/Information Science or Computer Science
At least five years' experience in the design and management of databases
Experience with programming electronic and online data collection tools/questionnaires with Redcap, ODK, OpenClinca and CSPro for use with tablets, laptops, cellphones, barcoding machines.
Extensive knowledge of relational database systems; MS SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft Access
Working knowledge of data visualization tools and dashboards; Power BI, Tableau
Able to recommend and implement new tools required for databases, data security and dashboards
Experience with data transformation packages (ETL) and merging data
Train and support end users including data extracts and reporting
Develop documentation including Data Management Plans (DMPs), SOPs, working instructions, user manuals, etc
Work with study teams, statisticians, researchers, and other colleagues, providing advice on data management and related issues in compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.
Excellent communication skills and ability to facilitate communication between various stakeholders, principal investigators, statisticians and program managers

A salary in the region of R per annum, cost-to-company, will be negotiated in consideration of experience and qualifications.
