3C Metal Belmet is recruiting for a specialised piping workshop supervisor at our Belville, Stikland branch.

Responsibilities / Duties / Job Skills:

Assist the Workshop Manager/Welding Foreman/Supervisor with the allocation of Pipe Fitters, Welders, Mechanical Fitters, Semi Skills & Other Team members to tasks.
Monitor Production & Welder progress, Maintain Quality and productivity of Team members.
Report to the Work Shop Supervisor/Management any production related and nonconformance issues.
Estimate the time to be allocated to specific jobs and monitor this accordingly.
Trouble Shoot defects in conjunction with Quality and other team members, and report on possible causes and solutions to Management.
Assign tasks and targets to personnel in the workshop in close coordination with the workshop Manager. (Subject to the workload, project requirements and company requirements).
Assign personnel (depending on their qualifications, abilities and experience) to the project in close coordination with the Workshop Supervisor to meet deadlines of ongoing projects.
Followup on the production activity and identity any shortcomings and possible problems.
Monitor the presence of all the workshop personnel and assist the Workshop Supervisor in the preparation of the daily timesheets for the production activities.
Assist with the discipline of workshop personnel and bringing to the attention and action of the Workshop Management any illegal, unsafe, unprofessional and irresponsible activities.
Ensure all personnel/team member has the correct consumables/equipment to perform all tasks adequately.
Supervise the servicing, maintenance and repair of workshop as instructed.
Make recommendations for equipment upgrades, improvements and optimizing.
Ensure that personnel are informed on the technical, quality and safety requirements for the activities that they have been tasked to perform.
Advise Management of training requirements and skills levels of workshop /welding personnel.
Assist with the assessment, mentoring, training, counselling and motivation of workshop personnel.
Familiarize yourself and be proficient on all the present production procedures, equipment and possible future procedures and techniques.
Responsible to familiarize yourself and promote and enforce as far as possible the company Disciplinary Code and Conduct, quality, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Ensure daily housekeeping is performed by team members, in and outside of the workshop.
Complies with the OHS ACT 85 of 1993 and all relevant health, safety, environmental, quality, legal and regulatory requirements as stipulated by company requirements

Profile:

Knowledge / Qualifications / Experience:

510 years' experience in a Supervisory Capacity directly relating to the production tasks practiced within the company. Focusing on production targets, such as inches fitted, welded and cleared daily/weekly/monthly.

Years' experience as Welder/Piper Fitter /Mechanical Fitter /Semi Skills after relevant Qualification.

Related Welder/Pipe Fitter/Mechanical Fitter Qualification.
Qualified/Knowledgeable in different piping fabrication with high pressure and lowpressure experience.
