Main Purpose of Position:


The primary focus of the role will be to provide tax advisory services to clients (corporates and high net worth individuals) as part of a close knit, highly motivated and ambitious team of consultants.


Minimum Requirements:


Experience and Skills Required:


  • Completion of SAICA training contract
  • Good client and interpersonal relationship management
  • General knowledge of and prior experience in tax advisory
  • Strong report writing skills

Minimum Level of Education/Qualifications Required**:


  • Qualified CA(SA)
  • Postarticles relevant tax advisory experience
  • Masters degree in taxation (or currently studying towards such a degree or intention to study towards such a degree) would be an advantage

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Provide tax advice to clients regarding transactions (mergers and acquisitions, corporate and private restructures, debt and equity funding transactions etc.) including the conceptualisation of tax efficient structures
  • Provide tax advice to clients regarding international / offshore structures (both inbound and outbound investment) including the conceptualisation thereof
  • Provide tax advice to high net worth individuals regarding private investment structures
  • Provide tax advice regarding a wide variety of complex tax issues (employee share ownership plans etc.)
  • Prepare and review tax structuring memoranda, formal tax opinions, tax advice notes, reports and transaction tax calculations in respect of the above items
  • Team member in tax due diligence projects and tax compliance and efficiency review engagements
  • Perform income tax reviews on high risk Moore Audit Clients
  • Provide deal and implementation support in respect of transactions (review of transaction agreements for tax specific matters, advising on postimplementation matters such as the appropriate tax return and financial reporting disclosures etc)
  • Attend to SARS dispute resolution processes, including review of related correspondence and drafting of appropriate responses to SARS
