PLANT CARETAKER

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent will be responsible for:
- Preparing, planting, caring and harvesting of plants in trial;
- Maintaining and cleaning of units;
- Assisting researchers and students with trials;
- Adherence to health and safety regulations when conducting tasks.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 10 with at least 1 year(s) proven experience in:
- Caring for plants in an agricultural environment;
- Irrigation of plants in trials.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):
- Proficient knowledge and experience taking care of plants in trials;
- Proficient experience in operating implements and machinery to plant, care and harvest plants;
- Proficient computer skills in MSOffice suites;
- Proficient literacy and numerical competencies.
ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES:
- National Diploma: Agriculture;
- Experience working at an Agricultural Research Institution;
- A total of six months proven experience within an agricultural research unit.
- A comprehensive CV;
- Certified copies of qualifications;
