Role: Catering Manager
Reporting to: Regional Manager
Business Area: Vaal Park
Main Purpose of the job
The selected candidate will be in charge of all food service-related tasks, such as overseeing daily kitchen operations, executing the production process, controlling food/labour expenses and having a comprehensive grasp of HACCP.
Desirable Education and experience
- It is mandatory to hold a relevant tertiary qualification in food and beverage services or culinary arts.
- Minimum 3 years of progressive/kitchen management background is required.
- Proven track record of operating within budget parameters to achieve objectives is a must.
- High Volume, complex food service operations expertise is highly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies
- Comprehensive understanding of the catering industry, from fine dining to casual dining.
- Familiarity with South African and industry-specific regulations.
- Strong Customer Service, Management, and Communication Skills.
- Exceptional Functions Skills.
- Proficiency in budget management and cost-saving strategies.
- Proficient in computer operations.
Key areas of responsibility
- Overseeing daily operations of the designated unit.
- Executing the production process efficiently.
- Controlling food/labour costs.
- Maintaining a thorough understanding of HACCP.
