Role: Catering Manager

Reporting to: Regional Manager

Business Area: Vaal Park

Main Purpose of the job

The selected candidate will be in charge of all food service-related tasks, such as overseeing daily kitchen operations, executing the production process, controlling food/labour expenses and having a comprehensive grasp of HACCP.

Desirable Education and experience

  • It is mandatory to hold a relevant tertiary qualification in food and beverage services or culinary arts.
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive/kitchen management background is required.
  • Proven track record of operating within budget parameters to achieve objectives is a must.
  • High Volume, complex food service operations expertise is highly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies

  • Comprehensive understanding of the catering industry, from fine dining to casual dining.
  • Familiarity with South African and industry-specific regulations.
  • Strong Customer Service, Management, and Communication Skills.
  • Exceptional Functions Skills.
  • Proficiency in budget management and cost-saving strategies.
  • Proficient in computer operations.

Key areas of responsibility

  • Overseeing daily operations of the designated unit.
  • Executing the production process efficiently.
  • Controlling food/labour costs.
  • Maintaining a thorough understanding of HACCP.
