Business unit, Department, Reporting Business Unit DPS, Business and Digital Advisory Department Data Insights and Intelligence Job grade S4 Core Description
Responsible for supporting the delivery of data science projects and solutions by leveraging your data and software engineering experience. Will be required to lead a small team of engineers through your example in both operational and strategic direction.
Core Functional Skills and Knowledge Required
Strong relational and non-relational database foundational knowledge
Deep data engineering knowledge base
Knowledge of data concepts and terms
Strong software engineering knowledge (Python, Scala, Shell scripting, JavaScript, React, Firebase, Web scraping, boilerplate frameworks)
Experience with system and process analysis and design
Cloud data streaming knowledge (Kafka, Sqoop, Pub-Sub based models/services, Redis, RabbitMQ, Airflow, Beam, Cloud DataFlow)
Cloud containerization knowledge, standards, and deployment options.
Cloud computing and platform management (GCP, Azure, AWS, etc.)
Communication (written and verbal)
Stakeholder management

Certifications

OR 9 years relevant work experience with at least 6 years directly in the field of software or data engineering, and at least 2 years' experience leading / managing a team.

Certifications Cloud certification (AWS, GCP or Azure) preferred Professional Memberships in Relevant Industry Level of Engagement & Span of Control Span of Control - 5 Level of Engagement Engagement will all levels within the organisation, internal and external to the business.
