  • Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Postgraduate qualification in transformation related field
  • 3 5 years in managing a transformationrelated field.
  • Demonstrative experience in the management of stakeholders and partnership and experience in project management
  • Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities
    1. Transformation, Diversity and Social Cohesion leadership support
  • Provide leadership and support the development of action plans in support of the implementation of the Transformation, Diversity and Social Cohesion strategic outcomes.
  • Ensure the realisation of performance outcomes, and where necessary implement remedial measures to optimise the achievement of service delivery and performance standards.

2. Impact on Organisational Performance (Getting Results) for students and staff

  • Manage institutional monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of transformation in line with legislative and policy directives of higher education.
  • Coordinate, edit and advise on the transformation reports in faculties, units and departments line with Transformation Barometer of DHEST.
  • Ensure that the transformation monitoring system and requirements are aligned to the targets and indicators as determined by higher education.
  • Advise and support faculties 'units and departments on developing transformation targets and indicators in their respective programme of work.
  • Develop proposals for conducting base line studies, process review, monitoring and evaluation studies and impact assessment studies on transformation related themes.
  • Collect and analyse the disaggregated data from the projects for learning and policy development.
  • Create, build and sustain effective external working relationships and networks with key partners to enhance transformation work and broaden networks and partnerships.

Implementation of M&E and coordination:


  • Collect disaggregated data from faculties, units and departments on a regular basis to measure achievement against the performance indicators.
  • Maintain and administer the M&E database; analyze and aggregate findings.
  • Support project progress reporting, midterm and review and final evaluation.
  • Identify areas where support to project partners is and recommend
  • Coordinate learning and development networks internally and externally to share lessons, case studies and ideas.
  • Capacity development
  • Produce the consolidated midyear and annual reports in line with transformation guidelines of DHEST
  • Consolidate transformation skills gaps in faculties, units and department and recommend to Human Capital
  • Promote platforms for facilitate collaboration, learning, and capacity building on transformationrelated themes.

5. Transformation, Diversity and Social Cohesion analysis

  • Analyze the impact and risks associated with achieving transformation imperatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the implementation of transformation in faculties, units and departments.
  • Highlight areas of concern with regard to transformation and evaluation to generate effective solutions which incorporate good practice and support operational priorities.
  • Effectively oversee and manage budget, ensuring cost efficiency, value for money and the ability to influence other budget holders to prioritize areas that support transformation

6. Staff supervision

  • Ensure that staff have job descriptions.
  • Ensure that performance contracts are in place and regular feedback is done.
  • Ensure that staff is adequately resourced to perform their designated tasks and responsibilities.
  • Inculcate fair approach in ensuring conducive and productive working conditions, health and safety and employment equity in the workplace.

7. Reports

  • Provide reports as required.
  • To contribute to work plans, quarterly and annual reports, financial reports, and other reports of the unit.
  • To ensure fair, transparent, responsive M&E consolidated reports in line with relevant legislation and policies in higher education
