To develop and promote a system of good financial management, accounting, procurement, provisioning and internal control systems and processes, for the company, in compliance with relevant legislative requirements.


JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Provide timely and relevant financial management reports to stakeholders.
  • Provide sound financial management advice to the accounting officer and senior line managers in terms of their financial management responsibility and delegated authority.
  • Implementation of effective processes, management and coordination for the compilation of the MTEF according to reporting frameworks and standards: Estimate of National Expenditure (ENE), Annual Performance Plan.
  • Compilation and timely submission of accurate information in accordance with prescribed standards and formats, specifically, the monthly and quarterly reporting of the expenditure outlays against the budget and nonfinancial performance, culminating towards the Annual Financial Statement in the Annual Report.
  • Manage the Finance Division and administer the performance management system for all direct reports to the CFO.
  • Responsible for the execution and timely delivery for outputs according to the performance contract.
  • Undertake a risk assessment and implement and maintain an effective risk management strategy.
  • Strategically engage with internal and external auditors and provide appropriate and timely responses to audit queries.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Post Graduate degree in financial, business management, accountancy or auditing
  • CA (SA) recognised by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants and/or MBA will be an advantage
  • Membership of a Recognised Applicable Professional Body
  • Four years' experience in the Public Sector
