Our client, a well-known private healthcare group, is urgently looking for a
Professional/Registered Nurse to fulfil the role of
Theatre Unit Manager.

This is a
permanent opportunity
at a private Day Hospital in Century City
in Cape Town** in the Western Cape.

Minimum Requirements:

Registered with SANC as a Professional Nurse
A qualification in Operating Theatre Nursing will serve as an advantage
Relevant Management experience of at least 3 years
At least 5 years experience in an operating theatre
Conflict handling and performance management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)

Duties and Responsibilities:

The purpose of the position is to coordinate all the functions and activities related to the provision of quality patient care in a hospital environment, excellent service to doctors, visitors and support services in a cost-effective manner, as well as motivating, supporting and optimising staff performance and education in order to achieve optimum functioning of the unit.

CRITICAL OUTPUTS

Conform with doctors' requirements/expectations, remaining within the scope of practice as well as being patients' advocate
Ensure the management of all related nursing services and activities in the unit, according to the client's objectives, policies and procedures
Maintain effective discipline in accordance with the client's Code of Conduct and disciplinary codes
Ensure safe and correct use of all equipment
Monthly monitoring of cost centre expenditure against budget
Maintain effective relationships with specialists, external bodies and associations
