CUTTER


An opportunity exists for a Cutter who will be responsible for preparing raw material to sew by measuring, placing marks, and cutting.

The successful incumbent to this position will be responsible for:

  • Unrolling, laying out, attaching, or mounting materials on cutting tables.
  • Marking cutting lines around patterns or templates
  • Laying out points using squares, rules chalk and pencils
  • Cutting of fabric, lining, foam and other raw material in lays or single layer as required using cutting machine and other hand cutting tools.
  • Organize (pack/count) cut working bundles as required.
  • Carrying of items to work/storage areas using carts if required.

Requirements essential to this position:


  • Grade 10 or 12, with adequate mathematical ability for measurements and typical cutting room calculations.
  • 3 years' experience in a similar role or environment.
  • Must have a basic knowledge of cutting lays, fabric utilization and minimizing waste.
  • Good decision making and problemsolving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, a team player, multitask oriented.
  • Good handeye coordination demonstrates good concentrations skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure and ability to work overtime when operationally required.

Experience:
