Description

Large FMCG International CO with Branch situated in the Worcester area of the Western Cape, holds a vacancy for a Operations Manager, with a minimum of 5-8yrs experience in the following:

Manage production planning, forecasting, purchasing and stock control.
Manage the operation and production teams including engineering resources, quality and procurement and the small packaging department.
Lead the operations and production team to ensure effective manufacture, purchasing and dispatch of all products within specific standards and schedules required.
To ensure that all the outputs of our resources meet a minimum quality standard.
To increase productivity by utilizing our resources productively.
Lead the design, development and implementation of all required plant management systems (Manufacturing Operating System), procedures, production standards, quality management systems and process specifications.
Increase OEE, reduced conversion cost and meet sales deadlines.
To meet current job objectives to the highest standards, while at the same time developing new knowledge, skills and abilities in areas less familiar or unknown.
To represent the company daily with external/internal communication with customers.
Within a common framework of manufacturing standards and specific plant standards, lead the priorities of the plants to the specific business needs of cost quality and innovation improvement at all levels on the plant.
Set and monitor production targets for all lines and ensure the various production monitoring and control documents are updated according to schedule.
Maintain and enhance any defined operational standards and documented procedures by means of routine audits and the implementation of corrective action.
Develop operational competencies of all personnel to meet current and future business needs.
Minimize business losses for accidents, occupational illness and environmental incidents on the plants
Ensure the adherence to all applicable safety, health, housekeeping and quality standards and actively seek to improve said standards.
Promote culture of mutual respect, honesty and selfdiscipline.

Specific Knowledge And Skills Required

At least 5 years of experience as manager in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of all the legislation, standards, policies and procedures mentioned in this document.
