So much happens behind the scenes to make the magic happen Often invisible to guests, the back of house team keeps things running smoothly, whether you're working in HR, Maintenance or Reservations, you'll be supporting and contributing to something special.

Mount Nelson Hotel is looking for a Generalist who is responsible for the upkeep and repair tasks of the interior or exterior of the company premises and to ensure you keep the company facilities in perfect condition by doing various maintenance jobs.

Maintain the building structure and upkeep of the aesthetics and décor through constant scrutinising of detail in guest and back of house areas.
Responsible for timely completion of job orders and prompt resolving of guest complaints.
Maintaining a high level of integrity and professionalism at all times in dealing with guests, employees and outside contacts.
To assist with other departmental and hotel duties as assigned by Management occasionally or on a daily basis.
The use and maintenance of hand tools and basic light machinery.
Recommend value addition to existing systems and procedures.
Ensure requests are followed through to guest satisfaction.
Communicate progress and concerns effectively to ensure service excellence at all times.
To conduct duties in accordance with hotel standards.
Follow Leading Quality Assurance and departmental standards at all times.

Requirements:

Basic math skills
Great attention to detail
Knowledge to work with hardware tools and power equipment
Extremely organized with good communication skills
Detailorientated
Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing or HVAC systems
Knowledge on implementing a plan of action for repairs using various hand and power tools
Knowledge to diagnose machinery and equipment malfunctions using mechanical acumen
Basic knowledge on routine preventative maintenance
