Electrician - Uitenhage - Eastern Cape


Our client in the automotive manufacturing industry requires a qualified & experienced Electrician to undertake all general electrical maintenance functions in Production Planning and Plant Engineering.


Duties

  • Electrical Maintenance of Infrastructure across all company Production and Support areas.
  • Undertake all general electrical maintenance functions in Support Departments, all Plant, Service centre, Truck and Bus, Shipping Yard etc.
  • Must be able to complete all maintenance schedules allocated timeously.

Switching, maintenance and repair of:

  • Medium Voltage switchgear and Isolators (11Kv)
  • Compressors, Pumps and Cooling Towers
  • Hoists and Lifting Equipment
  • UPS's, Generators and Busducts
  • HVAC Equipment
  • Automated Electrical Control systems and Motors
  • General and Security Lighting
  • Manage replacement, upgrade and refurbishment projects to successful completion.
  • Must adhere to plant safety and environmental practices
Qualifications and experience

  • Be a certified Electrician (Trade Tested) with proven industrial maintenance experience and must have thorough knowledge in all aspects of the Trade.
  • Have at least 3 years' experience in the automotive industry
  • Have a N3 or Mechatronics Level
  • Effective maintain all plant machinery and equipment in a Plant Engineering environment
  • Have substation experience (Transformers, Switchgear, Protection etc)
  • Effective maintain all plant machinery and equipment in a Plant Engineering environment
  • Have substation experience (Transformers, Switchgear, Protection etc)
  • Be highly successful in tracing faults, problem solving and be fully conversant in electrical drawings
  • Be able to work well under pressure and without supervision
  • Should be able to work independently, with a high degree of responsibility, skill and knowledge
  • Be computer literate
  • Have a valid Driver's License
  • Wireman's License will be advantageous
