Our Client is a large organisation who is looking for an experienced Workshop Manager to join their team.The incumbent shall be responsible for all technical issues including planning, organizing, leading and controlling the service delivery process of the entire fleet of truck, Yellow machines (Diesel plants) and heavy mining vehicles.

Responsibilities
- Performing root cause and effect analysis to equipment and accessories malfunctioning and provide cost effective solutions.
- Performing technical investigations on product/machinery/accessories faults through consultation with suppliers and effect appropriate solutions that improves machinery and equipment availability.
- Responsible for job allocation and job flow within the workshop including job scheduling and labour allocation for day to day operations.
- Regularly reporting progress on each job and quickly communicating delays or concerns to your Manager to include reporting on manpower overruns or shortfalls.
- Planning and preparing annual spares budget for the department and facilities, analysing variances and initiating corrective actions. Follow up closely during implementation.
- Coordinating ordering of spares and consumables to insure optimum level of inventory are met.
- Ensuring adequate maintenance of tools, equipment and other materials in the service area.
- Upholding and implementing systems to record, file and store information pertaining to all machinery at hand.
- Review work orders to ensure that all actions have been documented according to laid down workshop policies and procedures.
- Identifying staff that require ongoing training and implement training opportunities to ensure their skills are improved.
- Provide feedback to staff that are not performing to the expected level and ensure human resources are informed of trends in performance.
- Ensuring a safe working environment through enforcing 100% compliance.
- Adhere to 100% planned weekly checks and maintenance, timeous reaction to breakdowns and parts availability
Key Skills
- Knowledge of mechanical issues, warranties, service and general repairs is an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and root cause and effect analysis as related to equipment at hand.
- Ability to device technical solutions that reduces machinery downtimes.
- Excellent people management and leadership skills.
Qualifications
- Qualified Diesel Mechanic/Technician with 10 years experience in the management of heavy machinery and trucks particularly in heavy mining environment.
