Our client is searching for a SAP Receiving Clerk,(contract Hire) to join their team in Durban.


Under supervision and guidance, the logistics Clerk will perform a wide variety of duties and tasks related to the receipt, check, and distribution, and prepare all the offsite receiving as well as loaded tucks' information, making sure both the physical logistics and the online information are matched and executed any other tasks relevant to logistics operation in the Durban office for all corridors.


Essential Functions

  • Documents processing: Verification of GRV and prealert documents before capturing data in SAP.
  • Data entry: Process prealerts and GRV documents. Create goods receipts for purchase order items delivered to our freight forwarders. Review goods receipt, check and update the content of the outbound deliveries created. Create different types of shipments based on Incoterms and transport modes.
  • Reconcile SAP data: Countercheck the goods delivery list from suppliers, review data, make corrections, and check output.
  • Problem resolution: Handle shipment inquiries. Identify discrepancies, assess problems, and resolve issues as soon as possible. Liaise with buyers and suppliers to address purchase order/ invoice issues.
  • Customer service: Provide good service to internal and external parties. Implement supply chain strategies as required.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has supervisory responsibilities.


Work Environment
This job operates in the office including some admin and paperwork. This role routinely uses standard
office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.


Challenges

  • Work closely with all appointed warehouse and freight forwarder, and also
monitor their operation then report to mine-site frequently and timely

  • Most of the work scope should be admin logistics operation.
  • PO offsite receiving against GRV, B/L, Invoice, packing list, etc. received or allocated. All trucks will be capture on the system with a minimum average of 50 trucks a day.

Physical Demands

  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in an outdoor or plant
environment, including hart hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and other
protective equipment as required.

  • The company promotes a drug/alcohol free work environment through the use of mandatory preemployment drug testing and ongoing random drug testing.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a contract position, Monday through Friday. Evening and weekend work may be required as
job duties demand.
Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) or higher
  • Proficient in using SAP system.
  • One (1) year of related working experience.
  • Fluent in English, Chinese or French
  • Good computer skills
  • Knowledge of any ERP system is a plus
  • Good communication skills are a must (verbal and written)
  • Must be able to work in a fastpaced environment and perform multiple tasks.
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Must be RSA citizen or resident.
