Role Purpose


The role of the Compliance Officer is to focus on the implementation and management of an effective legal compliance program - focusing on global electrical safety standards while ensuring that the Company complies with its outside regulatory and legal requirements, as well as internal policies and bylaws.

In addition, the Compliance Officer is responsible for assisting the Managing Director and Senior Management in overseeing and monitoring that the Company meets its legal and regulatory obligations and promotes and sustains a sound compliance culture.


Responsibilities

Legal Compliance

  • Keep abreast of any and all legal developments which may have an impact on the Company's business.
  • Implement and manage an effective legal compliance program.
  • Develop and review company policies.
  • Advise management on the Company's compliance with laws and regulations through detailed reports.
  • Create and manage effective action plans in response to audit discoveries and compliance violations.
  • Regularly audit company procedures, practices, and documents to identify possible weaknesses or risks.
  • Assess company operations to determine compliance risk.
  • Ensure all employees are educated on the latest regulations and processes and understand the legal implications of noncompliance.
Stakeholder Relations

  • Build and maintain trust relationships with the Management Team, Colleagues, and Customers to ensure specific targets are met.
  • Work collaboratively and engage with key stakeholders to achieve specific targets.
  • Strive to maintain an ethical Team environment.
  • Keep all stakeholders informed of the regulatory environment, any changes thereto, and more importantly, the impact on the business.

Requirements:


  • Proven compliance experience in a similar sized business
  • Bachelor's degree in law
  • Compliance certification will be beneficial
  • Minimum 3 years' proven experience in a senior compliance officer role
  • Member of a recognized legal statutory body
  • Previous experience as a senior member of the management team
