Job Purpose

  • To manage integrated and enterprise wide risk across the bank and Group by providing a enterprisewide risk framework and processes to embed risk management requirements into business processes ensuring escalation of management information and riskbased reporting to facilitate the monitoring and management of such risk in order to achieve Nedbank's strategic objectives.

Responsibilities:


  • Coordinate and drive a strong strategic approach to Enterprise-Wide Risk Framework
  • Provide strategic direction on Enterprisewide risk policy across the group
  • Provide strategic direction on New Product Approval policy across the group
  • Provide strategic direction on Risk Culture and Risk Maturity Asssessment across the group
  • Coordinate and drive a strong strategic approach to Root Cause Framework
  • Design and implement effective and efficient Root course analysis processes to ensure that the processes are optimized and comply with regulatory and corporate governance expectations functions.
  • Enable worldclass risk management through continuous engagement, collaboration, training.
  • Provide strategic direction on ERCOs and provide insightful and actionable reporting and feedback to ERCOs
  • Build trusting relationships with all stakeholders (Board, Exco, Cluster Risk Officers, regulators, analysts, industry bodies) by being a values driven leader and strategic business partner.
  • Coordinate and drive a strong strategic approach to risk management by ensuring the alignment between the risk objectives and the business strategies of the Group.
  • Maintain an open and constructive relationship as a Trusted Advisor with senior internal and external stakeholders including SARB, External Audit and Business Executives.
  • Report on the overall effectiveness of the governance, risk and internal control framework of the Group;
  • Have in place a robust process to followup management's agreed actions to address issues raised by GSR;

People Specification

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

  • Professional Qualifications/Honour's Degree
  • Master's Degree

Preferred Qualification

  • Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Laws (LL.B)

Essential Certifications

  • Institute of Risk Management of South Africa (IRMSA) and/or similar
