Description
Facilitate learning and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels

  • Conduct research and publish in the field of Science Education
  • Undertake undergraduate and postgraduate supervision
  • Provide academic leadership
  • Undertake curriculum development and assessment
  • Support the inservice teacher education programmes of the affiliated Science Learning Centre for Africa (SLCA)
  • Participate in community engagement and outreach activities of the SSME
  • Administration and serving on institutional committees
  • Engage in national and international networks
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to staff

Minimum Requirements

  • Doctoral Degree in Science Education with a focus on life
- and/or physical Sciences

  • A strong undergraduate life
- and/or physical Sciences background, with majors in any relevant field

  • A good track record of tertiary teaching experience
  • Experience in preservice and inservice teacher education
  • A solid track record as an established researcher in the field of science education, e.g., through research outputs in academic journals and scholarly books.
  • Postgraduate supervision experience
