LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/PROFESSOR IN THE DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY (CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY)

Rhodes University wishes to appoint a qualified person to join a vibrant team in the Department of Psychology.

Requirements:


Lecturer

At least a Masters' degree in Clinical Psychology, with a commitment to register and nearing completion of PhD within the probationary period.

In addition, registration with the HPCSA as a clinical psychologist is required.

  • Three years of practice experience registered as a clinical psychologist with the HPCSA, and case supervision experience is advantageous.
  • Some teaching experience is required. Should be acquainted with online/ blended teaching, testing and marking or be willing to immediately acquire these skills once on the job through workshop attendance or other developmental opportunities.
  • Ability to teach and interest in any of the following areas is required:
  • Psychopathology
  • Cognitive therapy
  • Public mental health
  • Multilingualism in teaching and case supervision is a distinct advantage.
  • Ability to supervise postgraduate students as research supervision at Hons, Masters and PhD level as per qualification will be required once in the job.
  • Some evidence and experience of conducting research.
  • Track record of administration, management and/or leadership roles (leadership roles may be informal

Senior Lecturer
A PhD in Psychology or cognate disciplines, and registration with the HPCSA as a clinical psychologist.

  • Three years of practice experience registered as a clinical psychologist with the HPCSA, and case supervision experience is advantageous.
  • Teaching experience at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels required.
  • Teaching experience and interest in any of the following areas is required:
  • Psychopathology
  • Cognitive therapy
  • Public mental health

  • Research supervision of at least Masters' degrees to completion required.
  • Emerging national profile in the discipline and credible record of publication in peerreviewed publications.
  • Track record of administration, management and/or leadership roles (leadership roles may be informal)

Associate Professor
A PhD in Psychology or cognate disciplines, and registration with the HPCSA as a clinical psychologist.

  • Three years of practice experience registered as a clinical psychologist with the HPCSA, and case supervision experience is advantageous.
  • Considerable teaching experience at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels required including Masters and PhD levels.
  • Teaching experience at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels required.
  • Teaching experience and interest in any of the following areas is required:
  • Psychopathology
  • Cognitive therapy
  • Public mental health
.

  • Supervision of Masters degrees to completion is required. Supervision of PhD degrees to completion is an advantage.
  • National and emerging international profile in the discipline and substantial record of publication in peerreviewed publications.
  • Proven record of and an active interest in administration, management and leadership

Professor
A PhD in Psychology or cognate disciplines, and registration with the HPCSA as a clinical psychologist

  • Three years of practice experience registered as a clinical psychologist with the HPCSA, and case supervision experience is advantageous.
  • Extensive teaching experience at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels required including at Masters and PhD levels.
  • Teaching experience at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels required.
  • Teaching experience and interest in any of the following areas is required:
  • Psychopathology
  • Cognitive therapy
  • Public mental health

  • Supervision of Masters and PhD degrees to completion is required.
  • International profile in the discipline and outstanding record of publication in peerreviewed publications.
  • Proven record of and an active interest in administration, management and leadership

Lecturer

Annual Basic salary:
R523,049.00 per annum

Approximate annual cost to company:
R736,445.00 per annum


Senior Lecturer

Annual Basic salary:
R631,639.00 per an
