Job Summary


To lead realisation of Absa's digital transformation agenda to become a digitally powered business, enabling the Group to keep abreast of constantly evolving customer expectations influenced by new technologies, and position Absa to outperform and win in an increasingly digital world.

To successfully lead this function requires visionary leadership that can spearhead digital enterprise agility Absa-wide to accelerate strategy execution, champion experience design and design thinking to drive customer primacy, reimagine processes end to end leveraging process mining and promoting process innovation to create delightful seamless experiences, and embed a digital first, impact-oriented mindset and culture through effective enterprise change management & people transformation.


Job Description:

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities


Strategy:

  • Contribute significantly to the orchestration of digital transformation across Absa Group to support BUs in operationalising their strategies ensuring that the implementation plans are executed with agility to enable the organisation to transform quickly and effectively so it can adapt to everchanging market conditions.
  • Define, plan, and implement enterprisewide transformational initiatives, in partnership with business and function leaders, ensuring that teams are equipped to successfully land outcomes through initiatives that are delivered at speed, safely, with security and sustainability in mind, to enable a future fit, outperforming organisation.

Enterprise Business Agility:

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance organizational agility through digital technologies, digital ways of thinking, being, and leading.
  • Guide organisation on organising around value/outcomes and on optimising value streams to efficiently refactor both organisational debt and technical debt.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, experimentation, and adaptation to ensure responsiveness to market dynamics.
Design Thinking, Experience Design, and Primacy

  • Collaborate closely with product teams, UX/UI designers, and engineers to ensure a customercentric approach to solutions.
  • Infuse design thinking principles into the organizational culture, fostering creativity and usercentric solutions.
  • Embed customer value discovery in the product development life cycle to ensure understanding and prioritization of customer needs and expectations.
  • Infuse data and analytics in the design of digital solutions to understand user behaviour and integrate customer feedback into the development and refinement of digital solutions.

Innovation:

  • Drive a culture of innovation by encouraging experimentation and the adoption of emerging technologies.
  • Through immersive learning experiences and incubation, enable shortening of time to value for internal efficiency innovations and external customercentric innovations.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for disruptive innovation that can positively impact the organization's competitive position.

Process Innovation and Process Mining:

  • Leverage process mining to identify opportunities for process innovation and automation to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
  • Enable multidisciplinary crossfunctional teams to implement cuttingedge technologies that drive operational excellence, grounded by endtoend process optimisations.
  • Monitor industry trends and best practices to ensure the organization remains at the forefront of process innovation.

Enterprise Change Management & People Transformation:

  • Advise, support and coach business leaders on their digital transformation quests, enabling them to build essential organisational and technology capabilities that will drive continuous improvement of customer, client, and colleague experiences.
  • Build and maintain a responsive, proactive, and business aligned Digital Transformation Enablement Centre for the bank. This will include setting up structures and processes and defining the required skills and competency frameworks, learning pathways and delivery mechanisms that will enable the realisation of the transformation agenda and an agile digital enterprise.
  • Build impactful and scalable Digital Transformation immersive training programs to accelerate digital transformation across the group.
  • Act as a change agent, promoting a positive mindset towards innovation and digital transformation across all levels of the organization.

People Management:

  • Lead and manage the pipeline, recruitment, onboarding, development, performance, motivation, and retention of the Digital Transformation Enablement Centre team to enabl
