Deputy Hotel General Manager Position


Our client, a prestigious entity renowned for its heritage Cape Dutch Wine farm, which encompasses a contemporary Farm Hotel & Spa, as well as a Farm Shop and multiple Restaurants, is seeking a Deputy Hotel General Manager.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a passionate, professional individual to play a significant role in managing a high-end hotel and its associated food and beverage outlets.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Assist the Hotel General Manager in overseeing daytoday operations of the hotel and its food & beverage outlets.
  • Manage various departments such as sales and marketing, housekeeping, front desk, food and beverage, chef/kitchen, leisure, human resources, and accounts.
  • Maintain adherence to budgets, uphold quality standards and recordkeeping.
  • Implement quality control measures, ensuring hygiene and health and safety standards.
  • Achieve personal and hotelwide targets.
  • Contribute to the training and development of the hotel team.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory obligations and quality/bestpractice guidelines.
  • Train staff in effective customer query resolution.
  • Manage and meet customer expectations, addressing and resolving queries.
  • A degree in hospitality.
  • Fluency in both Afrikaans and English.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in the Food and Beverage Industry.
  • Experience in managing multiple restaurants is a plus.
  • Strong grasp of management principles with proven hotel industry experience.
  • Excellent leadership skills for team motivation and development.
  • Focused on delivering superior customer satisfaction.
  • Exceptional analytical, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Effective conflict management and problemsolving abilities.
  • Integrity, honesty, and a strong work ethic.
  • Proven project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.

Education:


  • Bachelors (required)

Experience:


  • Food and beverage industry: 5 years (required)
  • Managing multiple restaurants: 2 years (preferred)
  • Deputy management or related in 4star or higher hotel(s): 4 years (required)

Language:


  • Fluent Afrikaans and English (required)
