  • A wellestablished engineering company based on the East Rand is looking for a Mechanical Draughtsman to join their team.

Minimum requirements for the role:


  • A relevant Draughting qualification is essential for this role.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience within a similar position.
  • Advanced knowledge of 3D CAD Software such as Inventor (preferred) or Solidworks, SolidEdge, Fusion 360.
  • Excellent Knowledge of AutoCAD Software.
  • A good understanding of manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Piping design experience will be an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of relevant SANS and Anglo structural design standards will be an advantage.
  • Workshop/ Site experience will be an advantage.
  • High attention to detail a must.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Be selfmotivated and have good time management.
  • Be highly adaptable.
  • Be in good health with ability to walk around a mine site.
  • Must have a valid driver's licence with own transport.
  • Following Engineering processes based on global best practices and relevant international standards. (ISO 9001, OHS Act, MHS Act of SA),
  • Reviewing drawings and standards in accordance with BS30
  • Creating drawings in accordance with BS308 and SANS 1011
  • Following Drawing Office Procedure S
  • Creating and maintaining product specific design and drawing information.
  • Design: Concept layouts and general arrangements and prototype development according to Engineering inputs.
  • Basic designing for form, fit, function according to relevant standards.


  • Detail

  • Creating accurate 3D models, manufacturing drawing, QRL's and maintaining drawing information.
  • Use of

Engineering Systems:
Vault Document Management System, Information Systems (Drawing Register, QRL Register).

  • Needs analysis and assisting with queries (Drawing and design information).

Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
