Description:
- With the group's head office in Paarl, our client is a producer, packer, processor, exporter and importer of fresh fruit and vegetables. Their operations are run by six companies countrywide, with each focusing on a specific and unique aspect of their business. We are recruiting for a Compliance Officer to establish and maintain the group's compliance framework, ensuring adherence to pertinent regulations and industry best practices.

General Requirements:
- Brief description of Key Performance areas:
- Develop, implement, and maintaining risk and compliance documents, policies, and procedures
- Manage the compliance with applicable legislation, industry developments, and internal procedures
- Perform desktop audits, collate and prepare reports and supporting data as required
- Record keeping and other administrative functions within the department
- Internal auditing
- Be able to implement and maintain food safety and quality standards such as Good Manufacturing Practices for Food Safety, including HACCP, GLOBALGAP and Health and Safety standards
- Create an efficient system for communication between internal and external clients
- Identify legislative risks and improving compliance awareness through strategic risk identification, client engagement
- Manage and keep up with export standards and ensure exports to markets go according to customer specifications and legal requirements.
- Ensure that the ESMS standards are maintained and closely monitored for effective and positive results.
- Perform any other workrelated duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from timetotime by management
- Minimum skills and knowledge required:
- Tertiary qualification in Agricultural or Food science
- Minimum 25 years' work experience in Food safety systems and risk management
- Knowledge and experience in Global GAP, SIZA, BRC, Farming for the Future, ESG etc. will be beneficial.
- Familiar with local and international industry practices and professional standards
- Auditing Background
- Strong analytical skills
- Detailoriented with strong organizational skills to manage due diligence activities and documentation.
- Experience in office management systems and procedures.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment, multitask, and prioritize workload.
- Selfdisciplined and able to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and collaborative approach.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and priorities
