Main purpose of the post:


The main purpose of this position is to prepare projects budgets for the school and monitor actual performance against budget on a monthly basis and prepare the necessary reconciliations.

The incumbent will also be responsible for the review and reporting of the Wits Business Schools project financials to the Finance Manager, School, Faculty, and the University and ensure that transactions are in compliance with university policies and any additional requirements and legislation.

The incumbent must have a round knowledge of accounts payables, accounts receivables, reconciliations, and payroll functions.

The incumbent is expected to perform any additional duties related to the Finance Officer function deemed relevant by the Finance Manager and the School
.

Minimum academic requirements and experience:


  • BCom Accounting (NQF 7)
  • Required Years of Work-
Related Experience: 5 years' experience in project financial management and advanced excel skills


Knowledge, Skills and Attitude:


  • Knowledge accounting practices,
  • Attention to detail,
  • Knowledge of university financial systems and processes,
  • Knowledge of school strategies and plans,
  • Ability to use advanced functions in Excel,
  • Ability to write and communicate effectively;
  • Understanding of processes and control mechanisms,
  • Analytical skills,
  • Strong sense of ethics.
