The vacancy for a
Planner, reporting to the
E&I Manager will be responsible for the administrative, planning and service coordinating functions for the Instrument/Panel Services department.

To ensure that all projects to both internal and external customers are delivered on time and according to ACS policies and procedures.

To ensure that Customer feedback with regards to status of projects is given on a regular to both internal and external customers are delivered on time and according to our policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements:


ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Grade 1
  • N3 preferably with Process Instrumentation, where N3 is a minimum requirement
  • N6 would be preferable
  • Industrial Trade Test in Instrumentation (advantageous)
  • Project Management certificate.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Sales experience required
  • Two years industry experience
  • Process Plant Knowledge (advantageous)
  • Drivers Licence Required

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Planning and Scheduling of panel shop activities related to current projects
  • Planning and updating of the project schedule
  • Onsite project activities scheduling of technicians and booking of onsite activities on current projects.
  • Work with Designer to establish equipment/material needs, generate purchase requisition and send for processing.
  • Dispatching & receiving of equipment form stores and allocate to wiremen.
  • Coordinate workshop, IFAT/CFAT activities & resources in conjunction with Engineers/Technicians/Managers/QC
  • Liaise with internal sales & Designer to ensure correct equipment and labour are quoted on Analyser/Installation projects.
  • Liaise with Order Processing regarding the processing of customer orders and the ordering of equipment.
  • Liaise with Expediting regarding delivery of equipment.
  • Liaise with Stores to ensure that spares are issued on time to the workshop.
  • General Administration
  • Ensure that sufficient Stationery is kept in stock
  • Assist with Forecasting
  • Ensure technicians recon sheets are completed weekly
  • Assist internal sales with labour quoting for projects & site work
  • Manage consumables, use thereof and reordering as required.
