RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Maintain and monitor a compliance framework in collaboration with the relevant stakeholders.
  • Perform internal controls on policies, and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Monitor the Governance frameworks/policies to align the business to the Pepkor Groups governance requirements.
  • Assist in maintaining the Company's compliance with both industry and business legislation.
  • Identify potential compliance breaches and investigate compliance irregularities or areas of concern.
  • Where possible noncompliances exist, through collaboration with other stakeholders, provide a risk analysis and propose a workable solution to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure compliance records are up to date.
  • Monitor recommendations from internal audit relating to compliance areas.
  • Assist the Compliance Manager with maintaining the compliance procedures and manuals.
  • Provide advice, awareness and training on matters pertaining to compliance.
  • Prepare compliance reports.
  • Assist the Compliance Manager with projects and general administration.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


  • Up to 3 years related experience in risk management, compliance, legal or governance.
  • Working knowledge of RICA, FICA, POPIA, Banking Act, National Credit Act and PAIA
  • Relevant post graduate degree
  • Qualifications in Risk Management / Compliance / Legal or Governance Registered with Institute of Risk Management South Africa (IRMSA)

ADVANTAGEOUS:

  • Registered with Compliance Institute Southern Africa (CISA) (preferred), or
  • Registered with Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) (preferred), or Admitted attorney, or advocate in South Africa (preferred)
  • Experience in the Financial Services /Fintech industry with particular emphasis risk, controls, and audit advantageous
