Description

Role purpose:

Design, scaling, and management of all BI eco-system platforms
Maintaining and operating the data pipelines and processes
Maintaining and operating controls that ensure a well governed and compliant environment
Maintaining and operating Service Management practices
Provide strong leadership and steer team members in the right direction based on the division's strategy and goals.


Your responsibilities will include:

Lead, mentor and grow a team of operations and DevOPS specialists supporting the Data Enablement bi-ecosystem
Implement practices, process, and measures to continually assess, review and improve data platform performance following a continuous improvement approach
Develop, establish, maintain, and optimise DevOps practices, processes, and measures (KPIs & SLAs) to manage and ensure SLAs and KPIs of services are maintained
Establish, Implement, manage and control SQA (service quality agreements), vendor management, performance management, ensure value realisation from these services for the BI ecosystem landscape all in accordance with SCM policies and procedures
Contribute, guide, and develop minimum capability to adhere to governance and compliance policies including regulatory requirements for the BI ecosystem landscape
Acting as technical authority, providing input and guidance into technical solutions and implementations
Engage with various support teams & vendors to ensure that the data platforms are optimal and efficient.

Communicate and collaborate with multiple product lines, customers, and development teams for anything data related in accordance with communication plan.

Conduct regular audits to ensure platform aligns with best design and operating practises.
Develop automation for the setup and maintenance of data platforms and ensure software are always at OEM supported level.
Modernise data platforms to make it more sustainable, scalable, performant and cost effective.
Executing and managing operational projects to ensure delivery as per agreed timelines and scope


Ideally you should possess the following:


Technical / professional qualifications:

3-year IT or IS degree or diploma or related field is essential.
8+ years of overall IT experience with Big Data, Advance Analytics, Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence.
Relevant certifications at professional level desirable.
Relevant cloud certification at professional or associate level desirable.
Service Management experience working closely with agile methodologies, such as Scrum, Kanban, and with teams leveraging DevSecOps and Continuous Delivery / Integration


Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:

Agile methodologies and techniques used in development of software
In-depth knowledge of data as a product & how this provides value to organisations
Expert level experience in designing, building, deploying and maintaining of Data Platforms.
Experience within the Analytics lifecycle practices like Data Pipelines, Data Processing, Data Storing, Data Operations, Data Management & Data Governance
Experience in using a wide range of data technologies
Experience in using a wide range of Cloud native AWS or GCP data services including public cloud PaaS / IaaS, micro-services architectures, APIs
Experience working with containerised workloads
Require process as well as people skills.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to new methods and processes
Strong relationship building, persuasion, and collaboration skills that drives internal-and cross-team constructive feedback and support
