PURPOSE OF THE JOB


To effectively plan, lead, organise and control all inbound and Inventory departments to maximize operational excellence, quality, and efficiency for inbound operations and Value Added Services.

Entrenching a performance based culture of continuous improvement and health and safety awareness in line with the Sikhula KunYe Culture.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and ensure an efficient planning and optimization of the flow of volume across all inbound departments from offloading of Import and Local Containers in line with the agreed Inbound schedule and transshipments (TSP's).
  • Manage the overall profitability based on cost effectiveness through accurate planning and budget follow up and by using cost saving initiatives?.
  • Support Inbound and Inventory Departments to resolve issues, and ensure close alignment with the Key Performance Areas (KPIs) of the department.
  • Lead and support the Department Process Managers. to recruit, develop and retain workforce for Inbound according to capability needs and forecasted capacity requirements
  • Ensure adherence and compliance with the Supplier Manual, Inventory Policies and Procedures
  • Ensure that the capacity and inventory management for the receipt of local, import and decanted stock are in alignment with set targets and standards as prescribed by the business.
  • Effective quality control and maintaining accurate and reliable inventory records both physically and systematically are key components
  • Maintain operating stock levels and generate monthly inventory reports, cycle counts, audits, and other variance reports and optimise the utilisation of MHE.
  • 3 year Diploma/Degree in Warehouse Management/Supply Chain/Operations Management
- +/- 5 Years Warehouse Experience in a middle/senior management role

  • Computer Literacy: G-Suite (with Advanced Excel)
  • Previous exposure to warehouse management systems
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations will be an advantage
  • Management of TES
